Membership fees?

May 17th, 2006 at 10:49 pm

I saw divaJen's note about having to cancel three times...now I'm worried...DH monitors our cards online and I assumed he was watching for the charges, but he says he hasn't noticed anything...but I'm going to recheck everything. Major chunk out of my challenge if it's been billed. I hope no one else has had trouble!

I have had to follow up with Auto Vantage and Net Market, as well as esticker (from a MyPoints email).

I'm still trying to clear some charges.........And, I didn't get a couple of the gc's promised. They would tell me they would send it to me if I didn't cancel...and I waited until just 2 days prior to the 30 days. Not my favorite method to add cash to the accounts here. Decided I might try again after I have no full time kids here to distract me.

shopping essentials denied me my $20 cashback for purchasing the $100 in giftcards because i cancelled... bummed.... great fun came thru, i received the $25 cash back from the buy.com purchase... autoadvantage sent 2-$10 exxon gas cards, not cc.. i received my $10 gas cash back check from the voucher..did not receive the $10 off another magazine offer, emailed them and they did not know what i was discussing....
estickers was a waste of time...nil....net market...nil.... everyday values did not send me the voucher for the $25 buy.com rebate.. had to email them 3 times.. they said they would mail it to me in my packet.. received the packet and no voucher.. emailed them again and they said they would mail it... they did send a voucher for $10 cash rebate for grocery shopping>>> i am monitoring my discover card online daily.... i have not seen any membership charges since i cancelled them...

Ah, I haven't signed up for shopping essentials (?) or Net Market. I ran out of "organize" time, so haven't done deals in awhile.

My first of two credits from Auto Vantage is now showing on my credit card. Still waiting to see the second one, as well as the esticker and net market...

I have a tip for this problem! I got the suggestion from several online groups.

Most credit cards offer "virtual account numbers" that can be used only once but charge to your regular credit card. They have a maximum value and a short expiration date. I always use virtual account numbers to sign up for trial offers now. That way, if the cancellation doesn't go through, they can't possibly charge me.
